Chiropractor Jay Koenen D.C.

“Growing up watching my dad, uncle, brothers, and sister all practice chiropractic, it was natural for me to become a chiropractor, too. I can remember being in my father’s chiropractic office and seeing a patient limp in the front door and after treatment, walk out standing tall! I have always known that the One who created the human body heals it. Chiropractic helps with keeping your body aligned so that it can function at its optimal and heal itself. I wanted to be able to treat the cause of the condition, not just the symptoms. That is when I decided to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.”

In my practice, I focus on treating the cause of the condition because I know that if I treat the cause, the symptoms the body shows will stop, too.

CHIROPRACTIC EDUCATION

Dr. Koenen began his pre-chiropractic education at NIACC where he studied the sciences such as inorganic & organic chemistry, biology, physiology, and anatomy. After receiving his associate in science degree, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his time at Palmer, he studied biochemistry, anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, and chiropractic adjusting techniques. He also provided patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. Upon completion of the accredited program, he received a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Koenen practiced in Aosta, Italy, for 8 months before returning to open his practice in Newton, Iowa. He has been at his current location for more than 20 years. He is also a member of Iowa Chiropractic Society.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE…

Dr. Koenen is married to Kelly, and they have two children, Skye and Shae. His family enjoys spending time together with their lab, Ada, snowmobiling, boating, and fishing. Dr. Koenen is active in his church and in the community. He has been able to bless several local non-profits with financial support.
